Kunsthalle Bern leases for one day Adam Linder’s

Footnote Service: Some Trade (2018)

Thursday, 16 August 2018, 05–10 pm

Kunsthalle Bern has hired Adam Linder’s (choreographer, dancer, artist, Los Angeles / Berlin) Footnote Service: Some Trade (2018) for a day during the Jubilee celebrations. Three dancers and a saxophonist will hustle the walls of the institution, this perofrmance has been hired through a non-montery barter with Hannah Hoffman Gallery, Los Angeles.
Linder discusses a bartering, or trade-exchange, contract he drafted that governs terms and conditions of non-monetary exchange in the hiring of Some Trade. Linder reflects on how specifically his contractual agreement with the Kunsthalle Bern complicates settled expectations of contract labor in service-based economies.
With Sam Gendel, Justin Kennedy, Brooke Stamp and Stephen Thompson.

This event is a collaboration with Kunstmuseum Bern and Dampfzentrale Bern in the context of République Géniale.
In conjunction with Linder’s discussion on August 17 at 8.30pm, the Kunsthalle Bern will screen Michel Auder’s film, Chelsea, Manhattan- NYC, 1989/2008 (Hi8 video to digital video SD, color, sound, 6:21 min). Courtesy of Martos Gallery, NY.
