Art of encounter – workshop with Eva de Souza, with Apéro

Wednesday, 18 December 2024, 05–07 pm

Limited capacity, please register until the previous day .
Spontaneous participation is possible according to availability.

As part of the Art of Encounter workshop at the Kunsthalle Bern, artist Eva de Souza invites you to experience embroidery as a silent means of protest. In her artistic practice, de Souza uses embroidery to address issues such as racist police violence and the feeling of being at the mercy of others in an impressive way. Embroidery is not just a technique, but a form of internalization: the slow, meditative process allows for deep introspection and encourages individual reflection. At the same time, embroidering together offers a space for exchange and collective experience.

The artwork created in the workshop will become part of the exhibition as an ongoing project and invites future visitors to embroider their own messages into the fabric and thus continue the work.
