For the finissage of “the center and the other (title in progress)” Olivia Abächerli invites the artist Tanja Schwarz as collaborator and counterpart. Starting from the artwork on site, the two will try to navigate with and against each other through the labyrinths of understanding by writing and drawing, seeking their way between the “truths” of lightness and heaviness, between reason and nonsense.
The intervention in the basement, which lasts several hours, can be entered and exited at any time.

Tanja Schwarz (*1987) navigates at the confluence of visual art, philosophy and poetry. She would like to understand what it means to be here and to say “I” or “world” or “way”(…) Through drawing, writing and essay video she researches on ambiguity in image-text relationships and the interplay between wit and despair. Since 2021 she is part of the transdisciplinary artistic PhD group “Der zu teilende Teil” (ZHdK & University of Arts Linz). Actually, she would have wanted to become a marine biologist. She currently lives in Biel.
